Development Plans

Physiotherapy We now have a physiotherapist.  We are currently acquiring physiotherapy equipment.

 
Fundraising We have now engaged a professional fundraiser - Dave Stallworthy.  Dave has been raising money for the Spring Centre for several years and has now formed his own Company to help charities with their fundraising.  There will be a large number of events running throughout the coming year to promote the centre.
Young peoples group We are trying to set up a support group for younger people with MS.  We will be happy to host this at the Centre, but it is likely that this will meet at a venue to be chosen by the young people themselves.

Other Therapies There are plans to introduce speech therapy, a dietician, Tai-chi and Yoga classes.  Unfortunately, the Centre is too small to host classes and an outside venue will need to be found or a new home for the Centre.  Transport may be provided, either through the use of volunteer drivers or through the hiring of a mini-bus with wheelchair access.

 
Talks and Workshops Talks and workshops can be provided on a variety of topics.

 
Relocation Plans There are plans to relocate the Centre and a new building is being sought, preferably between Gloucester and Cheltenham to give easier access to more people across the county.

 
Transport

We would like to know whether there is a need for us to provide transport and , if so, in what form.  If you live in The Forest, Stroud, Cirencester, Tewkesbury, Cheltenham , or anywhere else in the County and you would like to use the Centre if transport were provided please let us know.

The Gloucester, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury dial-a-ride / community transport services have got together so that people can now be taken from one town to another on their mini-buses.  Please ask for this service if you would like to come to the Centre.  The more people who ask, the better the service will be.  If you have problems with this, please call the Centre and tell Marion.  We would like to monitor the service and improve it if possible.
